UK Employment Increases

The UK labour market has come on leaps and bounds over the past year. A fledgling recovery has driven strong employment growth with 400,000 people finding work over the past 12 months. This partly reflects new labour market entrants finding jobs, with the UK labour force having grown by around 240,000 over the same period. It also, however, represents a sizeable decline in the number of unemployed, which has helped push the unemployment rate down to 7.2% from a peak of 8.2% in early 2012
