Student housing helps create an institutional investment boom
Financial institutions from around the world poured more than £2.2bn into the UK residential property market in the 2010/11 financial year, with the student accommodation sector proving a particularly popular investment target. According to the London law firm Wedlake Bell, residential investment levels are now “at their highest levels since before the credit crunch,” and well up on the £765m invested in 2009/10.
